You should expect minor scratches on the surface of the cutting board and the surface is a little soft and knife-friendly, meaning they won’t dull your knives. The severity of the scratches depends on the force you apply when cutting. Sharp knives should require very little force, and using the Funnel-Board® will keep them sharp for a long time. We have many Funnel-Boards® that have been used daily for 3 years or more and are still usable and functional. If, after years of use, you feel you want new Funnel-Boards®, simply put your existing ones in recycling and order a replacement Funnel-Board® package of Funnel-Boards® only.

No, there are no screws required. The Holder mounts using a special double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive foam pad. Remove the backing on one side and apply it to the back of the holder in the outlined areas. Remove the remaining backing and position the Holder where you want it mounted. Once you have the Holder positioned where you want it, apply pressure at the foam pad points for 20-30 seconds. The pressure activates the adhesion and the Holder will remain in the location until you want to move it. To remove, gently apply pulling pressure at the foam pad points and the Holder will release. It can be remounted by applying pressure again at the tape points in the new location. The Funnel-Board® kit comes with complete mounting instructions.

Yes, the Funnel-Board® was UL tested and found to be dishwasher safe. However, due to the high heat used in drying cycles with most dishwashers, you may find slight warping of the Funnel-Board® when removed from your dishwasher. We recommend cleaning your Funnel-Board® as you would other cutting boards. You can also use vinegar and baking soda for a more thorough cleaning, and rinse thoroughly. Bleach can also be used as it will not affect the Funnel-Board®. If you use bleach, clean afterward with soap and hot water.
